Petrol rates at 5-month low while diesel cuts for 2nd day
Today, on 14th Feb, oil marketing companies cut down diesel prices for the second consecutive day. While petrol rates remained unaltered. Besides, the diesel rates became lowered by 5 paise to Rs 64.77 a liter in Delhi. Also, in other metro cities, diesel prices remained cut by a similar margin. So then, in Kolkata, diesel today cost Rs 67.09 a liter. Besides, in Mumbai, it stood around Rs 67.87 a liter. While in Chennai, it cost around Rs 68.4 a liter. Hence, on Thursday, the diesel prices remained cut by a similar margin.
However, in Delhi, petrol today costs Rs 71.94 a liter. So then, this seems the lowest in about 5 months. Besides, in Kolkata, the fuel retailed at Rs 74.58 a liter. So then, in Mumbai in stood at Rs 77.6 a liter. And in Chennai, it remained at Rs 74.73 a liter.
However, oil marketing companies revise petrol and diesel prices daily. Notably, this comes into effect from 6 am.
Despite this, fuel prices in India, depending on the international crude prices and the rupee – US dollar exchange rate, have come off as global oil rates fell sharply. Besides, India imports about three-fourth of its crude requirements. Also, crude prices have increased by about 20% from their 2020 peaks on Jan 8.
Earlier this week, oil marketing companies sharply have increased the price of non-subsidized LPG cylinders.
