Ambuja Cements shares plunged as Sensex gained:
New Delhi: To begin with, the shares of Ambuja Cements Limited decreased in the trading session today. The share price of the company dropped by 0.70% at Rs. 192.65. Besides, the total traded volume on the counter turned over Rs. 1.18 crores. Earlier, in the previous session, the stock closed at Rs. 194.00.
On the other hand, the stock traded at a price-to-earnings multiple of 17.75. So then, the price-to-book ratio stood at 1.28.
Also, as of March 2020, the promoters of the company held 63.11% of its stake. Likewise, the FIIs held a 15.61% stake and DIIs held a 7.03% stake.
Besides, the company reported a consolidated net sales of Rs. 6,249.66 crores as of March 2020. Down by 12.30% from the previous quarter, which stood at Rs. 7,126.44 crores.
Despite this, the net profit for the present quarter stood at Rs. 554.25 crores, up to 11.87% from the same quarter a year ago.

Also, the S&P BSE Smallcap index gained 4.14 points with a 0.035% rise and reached a 12,771.39 level. At the same time, the Nifty Bank lost 77.25 points with a 0.32% fall and reached 22,132.20 level.
